Shaimaa Reda
Master's Student at the University of Helsinki
About
Reda is a master's student at the University of Helsinki studying and researching plant stress biology.
Current research
Reda's research aims to understand why nuclear proteins plant cells form nuclear bodies under stress. She is currently studying the RCD1 nuclear protein, which was discovered to interact with many transcription factors and regulators that are essential for plant function.
Future research vision
Reda will continue her research career in the field of plant stress biology. She is particularly interested in how plants interact at a subcellular level on exposure to stress conditions, such as drought or salinity, and how to manipulate these interactions to boost seed priming and plant productivity during stress.
