Dr Mosab A Awadelkareem
Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Oxford
About
Dr Awadelkareem is a postdoctoral research fellow in neuroscience at the Nuffield Department of Clinical Medicine at the University of Oxford. He holds a PhD in neuroscience from the University of Verona
Current research
Awadelkareem's current research focuses on testing potential inhibitors of Wallerian degeneration (programmed axon death) using a human cellular model of chemotherapy-induced neuropathy.
Future research vision
Awadelkareem's future research will be focusing on using human induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)-derived neurons to better understand and explore new therapeutic strategies for different neurological disorders including peripheral neuropathy. He is. also interested in developing a genetically diverse human iPSCs repository for different neurological disorders to enable equitable benefits of using human iPSCs in disease modelling and drugs discovery.
