Abdelrahman Khalifa
PhD Student at the Max Planck Institute for Brain Research
About
Khalifa is a PhD Student at the Max Planck Institute for Brain Research. He Holds a MSc in Biology from the University of Munich.
Current research
Khalifa's research focuses on connectomic screening of genetic mouse models of autism. By combining volume electron microscopy and deep learning, he and his coworkers were able to study neuronal wiring and how it is affected by different genetic mutations.
Future research vision
Khalifa hopes to help establish connectomic screening as a tool to investigate behavioural motifs in health and disease.
