About
Khairy is the CEO and co-founder of the LK-HUB media agency, an Egyptian research company specialising in media policies, regulations, and gender issues. Although coming from a pharmaceutical and biotechnology background, Khairy has more than 20 years of experience in the media field where she worked as a freelance writer and journalist publishing over 250 articles in Egypt’s prominent journals. She is also the editor-in-chief of Egypt’s first slang magazine Ladies 1st and the managing director of ADEKON e-publications. Khairy also served as a media advisor for different national and international entities including the Egyptian Ministry of Health, Federation of Egyptian Industries, UNICEF, and more. She earned her masters degree with honours in journalism and mass communication from the American University in Cairo in 2017, through which she presented the first gender-based media code that was adopted by the National Council for Women and co-authored the children and family media code, both of which are part of the national media policy of the Supreme Council for Media Regulation. She is currently a lecturer in journalism and mass communication at the American University in Cairo and a member of the media committee at the National Council for Women.
